Reports: Ceasefire Deal Reached Between Israel, Hamas

This deal will halt the fighting in Gaza, surge much needed-humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and reunite the hostages with their families after more than 15 months in captivity.

Why It Matters: A deal between Israel and Hamas would signal an end to the war, which started after the Hamas-led terror attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. We still don’t have the terms of the deal and the conditions. Shortly after headlines ricocheted around the world, Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly said some terms needed more attention.

Timing Matters: Wednesday evening, January 15th, President Biden will deliver an Oval Office address about his final days in office.
