Walmart spokesperson Molly Blakeman last month in a statement after the retailer recalled nearly 10,000 cases of apple juice due to potentially harmful levels of inorganic arsenic last month. A recent update to the recall expands its scope to 133,500 cases sold by multiple retailers.

Why It Matters: Have apple juice at home? Be sure to check it. A recently expanded recall first announced by Walmart last month now affects apple juice produced by Refresco Beverages and sold by a variety of other retailers, among them Aldi, BJs and Walgreens, for levels of inorganic arsenic that exceeded industry standards. According to The Associated Press: “Levels found in the recalled apple juice bottles are low enough that the FDA does not expect them to cause such severe health consequences.”

See the recall HERE for specific packaging and best by dates. Affected brands include Great Value, Nice!, Nature’s Nectar, Wellsley Farms, Solevita, Weis and Market Basket.
